Gemma qualified from Napier University, Edinburgh, as a Veterinary Nurse in 2008. After which she moved back to her home of Orkney where she worked in a busy mixed practice until 2025 when she joined MCVG.

She enjoys the variety that is the nature of the job, in particular general nursing care, getting to know individual patients and their owners.

When not at work she loves to be outdoors, exploring the area either by foot or bike, and spending time with her three-legged cat, Frank.
