Anna joined MCVG in August 2015 as a trainee veterinary nurse. She writes…
Originally from Kent in SE England, I moved to Lossiemouth in 2006 to be with my partner Tony who was at that time in the RAF. After Tony left the forces in 2011 we decided to stay in Moray as we love the area so much.
I have wanted to work with animals since school so I am really excited to finally be following my dream through training as a veterinary nurse. It is early days in my training so it is difficult to know whether I will prefer a particular aspect of vet nursing but so far I have especially enjoyed helping to look after the animals post surgery. I am passionate about animal welfare and have a great love of Bull breeds, particularly Staffies. In 2009 Tony and I rehomed a 1 year old Staffie-Lab cross called Cheeko from the SSPCA; he fitted in perfectly and very quickly stole our hearts. Unfortunately we lost him earlier this year but we will definately rehome another Staffie (or 2!) in the future.
Outside of work my main interests are singing and cake decorating. I am a member of Sing Moray at Gordonstoun and have taken part in three concerts, which included a couple of nerve-wracking solo performances! I have recently started taking individual lessons though I don’t think Katherine Jenkins should start worrying anytime soon!! Since recreating my parents wedding cake for their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2012 I have made a variety of novelty and traditional cakes for family and friends, including a guitar, record decks, a handbag, a Minion, walking boots and a couple of horse’s heads, to name just a few.
