Staff - Nurses

Lianne Murrie

From a young age I knew I wanted to work with animals which led me to study for a Zoology degree at Aberdeen University. I had some fantastic experiences travelling and taking part in voluntary conservation projects including 6 weeks monitoring turtles in Northern Cyprus. After graduating I realised I was looking for a hands-on animal care career.
Last year I was lucky enough to be given some work experience with MCVG and quickly realised veterinary nursing was the career for me. I was thrilled when MCVG agreed to take me on as a student nurse and although I am in the early stages of my training I’ve already experienced and learnt so much. I love being involved in the care of the animals that come into the practice. Seeing them recover and go back to their owners is extremely rewarding.
In my spare time, when I’m not caring for my rescue Basset Hound Ellie and recently adopted cat Oliver, I enjoy travelling, hill walking, rock climbing and kayaking. I am always keen to try new experiences and challenges and this year I finally managed to get a trip in a hot air balloon. I also experienced my first skydive and completed a 54 mile charity walk in just under 24 hours.
